And it’s light into the bargain! Straubing, November 2003. The power-to-weight ratio of the new DYNACORD LX 2200 power amplifier is outstanding. Weighing a mere 8.15 kg, the amplifier, which is only two rack units in height, is rated at 2 x 1100 watts. The secret of its compactness lies in the clever combination of a switching power supply with Class H technology; DYNACORD’s developers have succeeded in combining the legendary headroom advantages of a transformer power amplifier with the considerable savings in weight you get with a ‘chopper’ power supply.
LX 2200 — the epitome of a safe power amplifier
LX Series power amplifiers are extremely robust and not even the bangs and bumps that are part and parcel of life ‘on tour’ will compromise their reliability. With the full panoply of protections — against overheating, overloading, short circuit, HF, DC... — they are also impervious to the bugbears that jeopardize the longevity or performance of less highly specified power amplifiers.
Another valuable safeguard is provided by the Soft Start relay system — a power-up delay to protect the power outputs that also limits current flow to eliminate the risk of blowing a fuse in the mains power supply.
DYNACORD LX power amplifiers are equipped with ultra-high-speed audio processors that compare the output signal to the input signal and are capable of sending fresh control parameters to the limiter in the event of non-linearity. The limiters are dynamic and act not only upon the dynamic range but also upon the input level.
